Sony divulga número de PS3 e Moves

Sony's shipped over 50 million PlayStation 3 consoles worldwide as of March 29, the platform holder has confirmed.

According to the company's latest numbers, the PlayStation Move controller has also shipped more than 8 million units worldwide as of April 3, doubling the total since last November.

While Xbox 360 is comfortably outselling PS3 in the US, new data from Strategy Analytics suggested the global installed base of PS3 reached 43.4 million at the close of 2010, compared to 42.9 million for Microsoft's system.

"People are loving the gaming experience provided by true stereoscopic 3D and PlayStation Move, and we'll up the ante next week with the release of SOCOM 4: US Navy Seals," SCEA said in a statement.
